Dr. Garro's Medical Path.
Having received his medical degree from San Fernando University Medical School in Lima,Peru,
Juan J. Garro M.D. completed his residency in Otolaryngology at Washington Hospital Center, Children's National Medical Center, and Veterans Administration Hospital, all in Washington D.C., where he practices today.  He completed his fellowship in otology at Baylor College of Medicine in Houston, Texas.


About the Doctor.
Dr. Garro is Board Certified in Otolaryngology Head and Neck Surgery - Ear, Nose and Throat. He also specializes in Allergy diagnosis and treatment. Otolaryngology Head and Neck Surgery is a medical specialty concerned with the treatment and surgery of the ear, nose and throat and related structures of the head and neck.Dr. Garro performs a variety of surgical procedures in the daily treatment of the ear, nose, sinuses, pharynx, larynx, oral cavity, neck, thyroid, salivary glands, bronchial tubes, and esophagus, as well as cosmetic surgery of the face and neck. He is trained in ear surgery and in selected cases is able to restore hearing through modern microsurgery. Dr. Garro routinely handles cases such as adenoidectomies, tonsillectomies, nosebleeds, infected mastoids, and sinus disease. Our office has state-of-the-art audiologic equipment to test hearing and diagnose the cause of hearing loss.



International Humanitarian Work.

It is estimated that Dr. Garro Spends approximately 20 percent of his time each year in humanitarian efforts.  Countries in which he has served include Czechoslovakia, Honduras, Peru, Ecuador, Brazil, Argentina, Colombia, France, San Salvador, Spain and Ethiopia.  Until very recently, he made these trips abroad without the help of any agency or organization, an illustration of his dedication to service without recognition. Dr. Garro speaks 5 languages.
